Opportunity Description
The ACHIEVE Training Program aims to support the development of the next generation of global health researchers. Participants will have opportunities to: - Strengthen their research and analytical skills.
- Develop expertise in implementation and dissemination science.
- Gain experience in applying research findings to real-world health challenges.
- Build international research collaborations and professional networks.
- Improve their capacity to design, implement, and evaluate evidence-based interventions.
- Develop their careers as independent academic researchers.

Opportunity Benefits
Successful participants can receive financial support and professional development opportunities through the program. Research Funding- Research budget of up to $10,000 USD.
The research funding can help eligible participants undertake approved research activities connected to the objectives of the ACHIEVE Training Program. In addition to financial support, participants benefit from specialized training, research development, mentorship, and opportunities to collaborate with researchers and institutions working in global health and implementation science.

Opportunity Requirement
Eligibility requirements vary depending on whether the applicant is based in the United States or one of the participating African countries. A. US-Based ApplicantsApplicants based in the United States must meet the following requirements: - Be a postdoctoral professional within six years of completing a terminal degree, such as an MD, PhD, PharmD, ScD, or DrPH.
- Alternatively, applicants may be advanced pre-doctoral candidates who have completed at least two years of coursework and passed their qualifying examinations.
- Be a US citizen, non-citizen national, or legal permanent resident.
- Demonstrate research excellence and strong potential for developing an academic research career.
- Commit to working in a lower-middle-income country for 12 months as part of the training and research experience.
B. Applicants From African Partner CountriesThe program is open to eligible researchers from the following African countries: - Ghana
- Kenya
- Rwanda
- Sierra Leone
- South Africa
- Uganda
Applicants from these countries must: - Be an early-career researcher.
- Have completed a terminal degree such as a PhD or MBChB.
- Be a citizen of one of the eligible African partner countries.
- Demonstrate research excellence.
- Demonstrate strong potential for continued research development.
- Commit to spending 1–3 months at a US-based partner institution.
