You will:

* Get up to $492,000 to support your research over three years. You can even apply for a fourth year if you are doing well.

* Have time and space to become a leader in your field.

*  Work with someone who is experienced in your field at the university where you will be working.

* Get to go to a meeting every year where you can meet people who are doing similar work share ideas and work together.

The Heising-Simons Foundation started this program in 2017 to help people do interesting research in planetary astronomy. The foundation wants to make sure that everyone has a chance to apply so they welcome people from all backgrounds. If you get this fellowship you will get to work with someone who is experienced in your field meet people who are doing similar work and get money to support your research for up to three years and maybe even a fourth year.
